MENSHEDS MANITOBA INC.

Men! Have you retired and find time weighing a little heavily on your hands? Mensheds Manitoba may be just right for you. Menshed Manitoba is a membership driven grassroots organization, run by experienced men for men. Communal activities enhance positive attitudes and well-being for men individually and in their homes.

Activities include:
– short term volunteering in the community
– socialization such as chess or cribbage and coffee
– working on personal hobbies shoulder to shoulder
– Menshed Cafe – monthly cooking experience
– escorted walking tours in Winnipeg
– assisting organizations such as International Hope Canada by repairing walkers to be shipped to communities in need

Annual General Meeting HSSI

The Annual General Meeting of Headingley Seniors’ Services was held on May 20 at Headingley Community Centre.

In the Chairperson’s Report, Louise Hutton thanked all the Louise AGM2015volunteers for their leadership and guidance with programs, whether arranging lunches, providing orientation for Encore Health & Fitness, sharing their travels or teaching new skills.  Special thanks were extended to Patti Cutts, Resource Coordinator for HSSI for her dedication and support providing resources and information, supporting the volunteers and identifying needs of seniors in Headingley.  Thanks were also extended to The RM of Headingley and to Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District.

 

Councillor John Mauseth, represented the RM of Headingley.   He gave a brief report of projects underway and complimented HSSI for all their services in the community.John Mausethagm2015
