Southern Health-Santé Sud Regional Health Authority offers a wide range of programs and services at different locations throughout the Region. Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality care and for you to have a safe passage through your health care experience.

Health Links

Health Links is a 24-hour, 7-days a week telephone information service.
Staffed by registered nurses with the knowledge to provide answers over the phone to health care questions and guide you to the care you need.

Home Care Services

Home care services are provided free of charge to residents served by Southern Health-Santé Sud and can be arranged on a short-term basis or on an extended basis. Home care provides essential support in the home to anyone – regardless of age – who requires health care services or assistance with activities of daily living. In addition, supportive services may include individual and family supportive counseling, assistance navigating the housing continuum, health education, geriatric assessment, health surveillance, nursing, rehabilitation and personal care assistance.

Eye Exams for Seniors

Manitoba Health Insurance will cover one complete routine eye exam every two years for individuals 65+. Contact Manitoba Health Insurance Plan & Benefits for more information.

Senior Eyeglass Program

Limited financial assistance to Manitoba residents 65+ toward the purchase of eye glasses once every 3 years or more often if there is a change in vision. Claim forms available from optometrists and opticians.
